The Receptionist presents a positive and friendly image of the agency at all times while handling all calls swiftly to the appropriate staff while maintaining efficiency and accuracy. 

Responsibilities

  • Screen calls and makes sure all calls that need to be handled immediately or of any emergency nature get handled by the proper department.
  • Make every effort to reach person requested and will transfer caller to staff member's voicemail box or, when appropriate, nextell staff person if they are not readily available to caller. 
  • Answer simple questions when information is available such a clinic times and places, time and place of inservice, office hours.
  • Alert supervisor of changes or errors in phone list.
  • Maintain a supply of patient admission packages as requested.
  • Open and closes consoles at exact specified agency hours.
  • Show punctuality and good attendance.
  • Assist in greeting any person coming to the reception area and notifies proper person that visitor has arrived.
  • Ensure that all visitors have signed in and out and furnishes visitor pass to all guests.
  • Create a professional atmosphere in the reception area, being congenial and helpful to all guests, vendors, and employees.
  • Complete tasks related to Hospital hotline and/or Hospital Lists.

Qualifications

  • Previous switchboard experience critical.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function well in very busy situations.
  • Responsible and reliable.
  • Good organization skills.
